Shepard Fairey coming to West End Festival in Sand City this weekend

Contemporary artist Shepard Fairy, best known for creating President Barack Obama's "Hope" poster, will exhibit his work this weekend at The Independent gallery in Sand City.
Presented by Toyroom and Outer Edge Studio, "Shepard Fairey: An exhibition of Fine Art Prints" opens with a private reception from 7-10 p.m. Friday at The Independent, 600 Ortiz Ave., Sand City. The private reception is rsvp only. You can rsvp at outeredge@toyroomgallery.com.
A public reception will be held from 5 - 10 p.m. Saturday.
There will be a VIP party hosted by the Monterey Contemporaries from 8-11 p.m. at The Independent. Admission is free for Monterey Contemporaries members. To join, visit www.montereyart.org/membership. Non members will have an opportunity to join on site and gain admission to the party.
Fairey is expected to attend both events.
