Sort of overlooked locally, but PG High School grad Gina Prince-Blythewood took home two NAACP Image Awards last week for her work on the film "The Secret Life of Bees."
Prince-Blythewood was presented with the awards for Outstanding Motion Picture and Outstanding Directing in a Motion Picture (Theatrical or Television). Her film was also nominated in a number of acting categories as well, although took none of the awards in those categories.
Prince-Blythewood's mom called in this morning to remind us of her baby's big wins. Props out to Mama Maria Prince for raising such a talented woman.
